MOT Testing in Swindon, Fairford, and Cirencester
MOTs for Cars and LGVs

If caught driving a vehicle without a valid MOT, you can be fined up to £1000. This goes up to £2500, a driving ban and 3 penalty points if you drive a vehicle that’s failed the MOT for a ‘dangerous’ problem. Not to mention the danger you put yourself, your passengers and other road users in by using an unsafe vehicle.

An annual MOT is vital to avoid a costly fine and ensure the safety of your car or van. IWS offers MOT testing in Fairford for all these vehicles, welcoming customers from Cirencester, Swindon and the surrounding areas.

To give your vehicle the best chance of passing the MOT, we recommend booking a service before the test.

We perform MOTs for the following vehicles at our MOT test centre:

  • Class 4 (Cars and Goods Vehicles up to 3000kg)

  • Class 7 (Light Goods Vehicles Over 3000kg)

What’s Included?

The MOT involves a thorough check of various parts and systems to ensure the vehicle is safe, legal and roadworthy.

Checks covered by MOT testing include:

  • Exhaust and Emissions

  • External and Internal Lights

  • Wheels and Tyres

  • Braking System

  • Safety Equipment

  • Wipers

  • Steering and Suspension

  • Chassis, Panels and Bumpers

  • Doors

  • Mirrors

  • Horn

  • Registration Plates

  • Secure Bonnet and Boot/Tailgate

And other essential parts of the vehicle.

After successful MOTs, we issue an MOT certificate and a list of any minor or advisory problems, which we are happy to talk through.

Vehicles that fail the MOT get a ‘refusal of MOT test certificate’, and we’ll explain the next steps.

Annual MOT Reminder

After MOT testing with IWS, you will be put into our reminder system. We will email or text you one month before your next MOT is due, ensuring you have plenty of time to prepare.

MOT Retest

If your car, van or other vehicle fails the MOT, you are entitled to a free retest within 10 working days.

We will offer expert, friendly and easy-to-understand advice on the work needed to pass the MOT. The team at IWS is happy to carry out the necessary repairs and MOT retest, providing a hassle-free service for our customers in Cirencester, Fairford, Swindon and the surrounding areas.

You will find our rates are very competitive, and our fully qualified technicians ensure all work is carried out to the highest standard.

If you wish to drive your vehicle home following a failed MOT, you can only legally do so if your existing MOT certificate is valid and the tester found no ‘dangerous’ problems.
